New Auction Window: Tumble Room

Whoops! --you're going to have to hurry up for this one; bidding ends THIS TUESDAY May 25 at 8pm.

Roll on in to the Tumble Room, where a set of 5 Superleggera chrome chairs and a Ben Shahn McCarthy Peace print defy the rules of gravity. A topsy turvy blue glass vase and biomorphic green vase add to the surreal feel, while a set of four Catherinholm bowls (in black), handmade beaded poppies, and enamel clock decorate the space. A 1960s teal TV (what a looker!), wool Kilim rug, wall mount swag lamp, and tension pole shelving unit keep it firmly grounded in the real.

Dress and accessories will be available for purchase (rather than auction) following the close of the auction.

As always, Happy Bidding!

Staff Support: Kerry Jones' Royal Jelly Fashion Show

While you may not have run into staff member Kerry Jones at the register (her domain is in the Sorting Room), you've probably taken note of her attention-grabbing tag writing style, often referring to "sweet" embroidered hankies or "totally rad" embellished tops. This week, Kerry brings her spunky, whimsical nature to the fashion world as head designer of Royal Jelly.

A smattering of prints define a cape from a previous Royal Jelly collection.

Royal Jelly's one-of-a-kind wares are tactile and complex, compelling one to touch, wear and be gratified. The newest RJ collection promises "an impossibly soft suede tank, harem shorts, and studded bra top" done up in "indulgent silks" juxtaposed with "destroyed, hole-ridden knitwear."

From Royal Jelly's previous collection, a textural, armored vest.

We sense an awesomely Celine-meets-Rodarte-esque summer of Frankenstein coming on.

Catch the Royal Jelly Spring '10 show, Friday May 21 at:

Louis V E.S.P. Gallery
140 Jackson Street
Brooklyn (Graham L stop)
doors at 7pm, show promptly at 8pm

New Auction Window: Vanity Ballroom

Imagine yourself swaddled in lace, pearls and perfumery, prepping yourself in the most posh of powder rooms. Accessorized in a deco motif, a mirrored vanity (with bench) defines the space, while etched glass frames and antique photos keep loved ones near. Take your calls on a cream handled rotary phone, and when you're finally ready to head out (as the Atmos clock urges), don't forget to quash the flames on your shabby chic sconces and chandelier, both utterly dripping in crystals. Oh, how divine!

Hand made beaded flower bouquet

Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos Clock (condition unknown, currently does not run)

Rotary phone with stylish Deco frames

Bids may be placed on the clipboard near the register until 8:00pm, Tuesday May 11. Winning bidders will be notified by phone the following morning.
