Staff Support: Lilly & Will Tie the Knot

No knots were harmed in the joining of VT manager Lilly and her fiance-turned-husband, Will, in holy matrimony earlier this month. The lovely couple took the aisle less traveled, pledging their vows at art gallery and event space Grand Opening. To celebrate the union, friends, family, and fellow staff members headed out to that crazy Indian place on 1st ave (you know the one!), where fresh naan was gorged upon, bubbly was sipped, and much merry was made over the happy couple.

We now dub thee W-illian!

Lilly's ascent into matrimonial bliss corresponds with her departure from the Vintage Thrift crew. We send her (and Will) off with the very best of wishes. Congratulations, you two!

Awwwws.

New Auction Window: Country House

VT has gone country. From aged bread and cracker tins to perfectly rusted iron pots and aluminum strainers, there are plenty of objects to peruse here (fifty to be exact!). Tried and true kitchen gadgets such as wooden spatulas, a lemon squeezer, meat grinder, and ceramic bundt pans may be neatly stowed in the pine sideboard, while a set of four Staffordshire cobalt plates and silhouette prints add a touch of the non-primitive. Tote your eggs in the antique carrier or sit a spell on the red rooster rug. There's even a set of spurs to tame your cowboy heart.

Bids may be placed on the auction clipboard near the register, or by phone through Monday, July 26 at 8pm.

Happy Bidding!

What Chloe Says

photo via Stylefrizz.com

If you've been a Vintage fan for five or more years, then you might remember the time that Big Love star Chloe Sevigny posed for our Kenneth Jay Lane jewelry bazaar event.

Our fave actress/designer has been showing us the love again. In Tuesday's Metro, Chloe names Vintage Thrift as one of her top NYC hot spots:

When you go thrifting these days, it's all the disposable brands. But this store has a lot of '40s, '50s, '80s. It's the greatest thrift store in NYC.

Thanks, boo! We heart you too.
